Offering one off courses in industry specific computer software to up-skill staff as part of their CPD (Continuing Professional Development).

WHO IS IT FOR?: Organisations that wish to offer CPD opportunities to staff in industries where technology, legislation or practice develops quickly and where employees must be up-to-date with the latest developments.

CASE STUDY: Led by Southampton Solent University this project involved creating sessions in music software ‘Pro Tools’ and was offered to college tutors, university lecturers and school teachers who teach music technology related subjects.

ABOUT: The music industry is constantly changing and so is the technology and tools that are used, so anyone in this industry or teaching subjects related must regularly update their skills accordingly. Southampton Solent University (SSU) recently gained Digidesign Accreditation this was seen as an opportunity to offer courses on Pro Tools, a popular industry recognised software suite used to record, mix, edit and compose sound.The courses were not only organised for teachers, they were also for industry employers who wanted to up-skill.
