Projects

The purpose of this project is to improve apprentice progression to HE by creating a route from the Advanced to Higher Apprentice level, developing bridging courses and a Foundation degree as part of the Higher Apprenticeship Framework.

WHO IS IT FOR?: Anyone with an interest in supporting apprentice progression and wishing to replicate the work already achieved by this project.

CASE STUDY: This project has been led by Southampton Solent University working with Southampton City College and City Training.

ABOUT: This project has three main aims. First it aims to develop an innovative, supportive and viable succession route from Advanced to Higher Apprenticeships to meet the needs of the learners, employers and FE and HE Learning Providers. It will also research, develop, fund, pilot and evaluate a bridging/transition course delivered in a variety of modes including blended learning/VLE (Virtual Learning Environment). Finally, the project will aim to identify and work closely with a Sector Skills Council to research, develop and produce validation documentation for a Foundation Degree as an integral part of a Higher Apprentice Framework.
