Access Higher Education with an Access course

Access to HE Diploma courses are designed for adults without formal qualifications, as a stepping stone to university. An Access course is designed to increase the levels of your learning whilst giving you confidence and the skills needed for achieving a high level qualification. Thousand of people study for Access courses every year and many progress to university courses. Some people apply directly to degree courses especially if they gained A levels or their equivalent, years ago.

You will be given advice by admissions tutors if a degree or an Access course is the right next step for you. Many people, even if they obtained A levels years ago, take the Access course first to remind themselves how to study and to build their confidence.

The experience, enthusiasm and determination that adult students bring to their studies are highly valued by tutors and fellow students. In many ways it can be an advantage to have not just left school!

Access courses are equivalent to Advanced (A) level study.
