Building a future in Construction and Engineering

The Engineering and Construction Curriculum Groups hosted a one day conference in January aimed at those in education, in the public sector, business and professional bodies.

The event was held at The Rose Bowl cricket ground in Southampton.

Themes covered:

  • The relevance of higher education to meeting the needs of the built environment and engineering professions and of employers in those sectors.
  • The need for more graduates and professionals to support the growth of the national, regional and sub-regional economies.
  • The problem of increasing the formal qualifications of mature learners who have developed and been provided with extensive training and experience in the workplace.
